Prescription Drug Assistance

by Jim Abernathy

The Area Agency on Aging of West Alabama offers a program called "SenioRx."  Initially, the program was available only to people above 55 years old.  However, the program has been expanded to include people at any age who have a disability and have either been approved by Social Security or who have applied for disability and are awaiting a decision, or who have a doctors declaration of disability.

The statewide Area Agency on Aging may be contacted at 1-800-243-5463.  Ask about the SenioRx program.

If you live in Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Pickens, or Tuscaloosa county, you may contact the West Alabama office directly at 205-333-2990 to ask about the SenioRx program.
